• The Maryland Shakespeare Festival’s highly trained teaching artists promote personal connection and joyful expression in students, amid an atmosphere of generosity and play—all backed by the highest academic pedigrees.

• Endorsed by the Maryland State Arts Council, The Maryland Shakespeare Festival works in direct partnership with Shakespeare & Company, in Lenox, Massachusetts, which was named by the MacArthur Foundation and the President’s Council on Arts as one of six national arts education leaders, and studied by Harvard’s Project Zero as a “Champion of Change.”

• Shakespeare residencies can range from two days to ten weeks and are tailored to fit each school’s specific curricular needs.

• Most residencies include Shakespeare Alive! performances, Shakespeare into Action workshops and a final student performance for the entire community.

• Financial Assistance may be available from local, county or state Arts Councils.
