Maryland Shakespeare Festival’s Riotous Youth and Intern Company

Riotous Youth is Maryland Shakespeare Festival’s long-standing educational program for kids and teens ages 10 through 18. Using the same mission and exceptional training program of our professional company, carefully adapted for young people, the Riotous Youth company produces two productions per season under the guidance of our seasoned professional theatre teacher/directors. During the course of a three-month workshop and rehearsal period that meets all day on Saturdays, our young actors discover the passion and power of Shakespeare, working and playing as they learn about ensemble, acting, voice, movement, stage combat,  and speaking their own truth through Shakespeare’s language. In the true spirit of apprenticeship, many of our Riotous Youth actors work closely with the actors, teachers, designers, and directors of our professional company in the Bare Bard series and as invaluable interns on the Good Will Summer Tour.

The Spring Riotous Youth Workshop will start on Saturday, March 3, 2012 and will end with performances of Twelfth Night on May 18th and 19th. It will be THE place to be in Frederick this Spring!
