All Donations Matched by Nora Roberts Foundation For The Holidays!

Dear Friend,

Goethe once wrote, “Whatever can be known of the heart of man may be found in Shakespeare’s plays.”  For over 400 years, his plays have helped us understand the full range of our own humanity – from the depths of senseless cruelty and hatred, to the struggle for justice and the miracle of mercy.  Shakespeare’s plays can help us to understand, to cope with and sometimes even to escape our turbulent world.

Maryland Shakespeare Festival, as Frederick’s only producing professional theater, is proud to be a part of this great community and to serve the causes of understanding and healing.   And we are doing just that…

SHAKESPEARE ALIVE! introduces close to 15,000 Middle and High School students in Maryland to the power of Shakespeare’s word – to help them to find their own voices and understand their world.

Throughout the spring, as in the fall, our BARE BARD EXPERIMENTS bring astounding guest artists to Frederick to train and grow, while creating cutting edge productions unlike any others.

This summer, our tenth outdoor production, ROMEO & JULIET – everyone’s favorite tale of forbidden love, will offer Frederick a great escape at Baker Park – and the same for other Marylanders at venues around the State.

If you believe in the important work of Maryland Shakespeare Festival, please consider making a tax-deductible donation before the end of the year. Thanks to the Nora Roberts Foundation, every dollar that you donate will be worth $2 to us!

This Holiday season, give a gift to your community – the gift of professional and passionate Shakespeare.

You can donate securely online by visiting our Support Us page, or you can send checks by mail to the office address listed on our Contact Us page .

Thank you for your continued belief and support,

Becky Kemper
Artistic Director
