11/12 – 11/13/10 Riotous Youth presents Macbeth

Three witches appear out of the fog in the lonely Scottish Highlands . . . and one man’s life is plunged into a downward spiral of guilt, obsession, and reckless ambition.  This is one of William Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies presented like you’ve never seen it before.  Maryland Shakespeare Festival’s Riotous Youth program puts the classics in the hands of Maryland teenagers, teaching them to channel their own truth and experience into Shakespeare’s language and bring the words alive with the kind of uninhibited energy that only a teenager can muster.  See what happens when sixteen students are set free from their desks and turned loose in a dark land filled with ghosts and witches, deception and murder. Macbeth will perform at the Cultural Arts Center in downtown Frederick on Friday, November 12th at 8 p.m. and on Saturday, November 13th at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $10. Reserve in advance by calling (301) 668-4090. For directions, click here.
