7/9 – 7/25/10 Star-Crossed Love Under the Stars in July 2010

Maryland Shakespeare Festival will bring free performances of Romeo and Juliet to parks throughout the state of Maryland from July 9th to 25th. Grab a blanket, picnic, and your main squeeze for this family-friendly production of Shakespeare’s timeless tale of star-crossed love.

Through the ages, the young lovers Romeo and Juliet have come to be synonymous with the impetuousness of adolescent passion.  No story lends itself better to Maryland Shakespeare Festival’s spontaneous and stirring festival atmosphere.  The professional company of actors (some reprising their roles from the January Bare Bard performance and some new faces) will perform under the stars – with heart-stopping sword fights, audience interaction, live music and dance, and unbeatable storytelling.

That which we call a rose… Parting is such sweet sorrow… You kiss by th’ book. Come hear many of Shakespeare’s most beloved words spoken with a freshness and honesty unmatched in any other theatre.  In this truly “edge-of-your-seat” performance, you’ll experience the joy and heartbreak of Romeo and Juliet as if for the first time.

Romeo and Juliet will appear at outdoor venues across the state.  To find one near you, click here. All performances are free and great for children and adults alike!
